BEVERLY HILLS—A police motorcycle officer was injured in a traffic accident at the intersection of Burton Way and Doheny Drive around 1 p.m. on Monday, December 23.

The Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) posted a traffic advisory on Twitter around 2 p.m. for drivers to avoid the areas surrounding Burton Wayand Doheny Drive for a few hours due to traffic congestion and to plan an alternate traveling route.

Sergeant Max Subin of the BHPD told the Canyon News the officer was struck on his motorcycle by a car and was transported by the Beverly Hills Fire Department to a local hospital “for observation.” The officer has since been released, and Subin said the officer was “a little sore,” but is doing fine and did not suffer serious injuries.

KTLA was able to capture aerial footage of the officer’s motorcycle, a sedan and a white SUV at the site of the accident. As of 4 p.m., Subin confirmed that the on-site investigation had concluded and that the traffic areas are completely re-opened.

Subin said the motorcycle officer was struck by only one of the cars.
