BEVERLY HILLS—The event Music in the Mansion, is returning to the Greystone Mansion & Gardens: The Doheny Estate on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 2 p.m. The Los Angeles Ensemble will feature piano duo Esther Lee & Sung Chang. Greystone Mansion & Gardens: The Doheny Estate is located at 905 Loma Vista Drive.

According to the city of Beverly Hills website, the Los Angeles Ensemble, comprising four musicians – pianist Sung Chang, cellist Bingxia Lu, violist Tanner Manees and violinist Joanna Lee – won multiple categories of the Beverly Hills National Auditions and was awarded first prize of the International Music Competition Grand Prize Virtuoso in London.

Lee and Chang have been playing together since 2010, while studying in Germany. After six months as a piano duo, they won first prize and Best Performance of the Schubert Award in the International Schubert Competition for Piano Duo. Both reside in Los Angeles, and continue to perform as a duo, as soloists and as chamber musicians in various countries.

The 2019 season lineup:

-January 20 – LAE with Esther Lee & Sung Chang.  Ensemble and piano duo.

-February 17 – Anastasia Malliara, soprano & Aaron Haas, guitar; Laurel Irene, Soprano & Jaxon Williams, Guitar.  Voice and guitar duo.

-March 17 – The Latsos. Piano duo.

-April 21 –  Micah Wright & Friends. Classical trios and jazzy, virtuosic selections for clarinet, cello and piano.

-May 19 – Adelya Shagidullina, viola & Azer Damirov, violin.  Solos and duos.

-June 16 – Delirium Musicum, chamber orchestra.
