TOPANGA CANYON—Last week, Barbara Kerr Condon confirmed to Canyon News that actress Nancy Stafford has been signed on to join the cast of the Independent film “Three Times A Lady.” Stafford is poised to play Susan, a boutique owner whose employee, Deb, is the daughter of Rose. Turns out, Stafford, an actress revered and loved for her more dramatic roles, has a comedic streak. Stafford takes on the role of the non-offensive, endearing town cougar, with present day wit as she comes to the rescue throughout the movie.

The script was co-written by Darlene Bridge Lofgren and Barbara Kerr Condon and will star Muse Watson and Kevin Sorbo. Condon will also produce.

Stafford is familiar to millions as Andy Griffith’s law partner, Michelle, on TV’s “Matlock.” She has starred in numerous TV movies and series, including three years on the NBC Emmy-winning “St. Elsewhere,” ABC’s “Sidekicks,” and the NBC daytime drama “The Doctors.” She’s guest-starred on numerous shows, including “The Mentalist,” “Judging Amy,” “ER” and “Frasier,” and TV movie starring roles include “Moment of Truth: A Child Too Many” and “Deadly Invasion.” She recently co-starred with Randy Travis in the feature film “The Wager,” and her latest film, “Christmas With a Capital C,” will be released Christmas 2010. Stafford is also the author of two books published by Random House/Multnomah: “Beauty by the Book: Seeing Yourself as God Sees You,” and “The Wonder of His Love: A Journey into the Heart of God.”

“I love this story and am thrilled to be part of this production!” says Stafford. “It’s great to see a film featuring a mix of ages, not just 20-or-30-year-olds we always seem to see. To get to work with Muse and Kevin is an absolute dream, and on top of that—I get to play ‘the cougar’—how fun!”

Barbara Kerr Condon tells Canyon News, “When I first began thinking of people I wanted in the cast for ”˜Three Times A Lady,’ I naturally thought of actors whom I respected for both their talent and as a person. Nancy Stafford is an extremely talented actress and a fine lady. I was so happy when she called me after reading the script and said she wanted the role of Susan. Nancy has the perfect look for this character, and she definitely has the talent to bring Susan to life in a fun way.”
