HOLLYWOOD—A small explosion ignited a fire on August 11 injuring one person. Upon arrival, the fire had been extinguished. One man was found with burns over 20 percent of his body.

The victim was transported to the hospital and listed in fair condition, according to the LAFD’s blog. The explosion occurred after the victim discharged 10 insecticide foggers incorrectly, creating an explosion with a flash fire that lifted the ceiling and broke the windows in his apartment unit.

The incident occurred on the top floor of the victim’s apartment located on 1342 N. Fuller Ave. Brian Humphrey, spokesman for the LAFD indicated that the explosion caused at least $25K in property damage.
