WEST HOLLYWOOD—A pedestrian was injured on Wednesday, July 4, while crossing a street in West Hollywood. Authorities suspect the driver was under the influence at the time of the collision.

My News LA reported to Lieutenant H. Mancinias with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, that the incident occurred at 2 a.m. at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and North Hayward Avenue. A person driving eastbound in a Lexus struck a woman as she was walking northbound in a crosswalk.

Mancinias indicated that the woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries she sustained. Her condition is currently unknown. Canyon News reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department for additional details, but did not hear back before print. The incident is under investigation by the LAPD West L.A. Division.
