SANTA MONICA—The Santa Monica Public Library is hosting its second annual PEEPSapalooza event on April 1, from 2:00 p.m.-2:45 p.m. The event is open for everyone 17 and under, and it will take place at the Main Library in the Children’s Activity Room.

PEEPSapalooza challenges kids to get creative, according to Christa Muscatine from the Santa Monica Public Library. The contest requires participants to build a diorama based on a book using the seasonal treat, PEEPS. Muscatine informed Canyon News they like holding the event for everyone under the age of 17 because they get a variety of dioramas and prizes will be awarded.

There will also be entertainment. Last year, Muscatine told Canyon News, there was a slide show full of fun facts about PEEPS. This year they plan on doing a PEEPS puppet show for the entertainment.

All participants should bring their diorama to the Main Library at 2:00 p.m. on April 1 for a chance to win a prize. For more information visit smpl.org or call the library’s Youth Services at 310-458-8621.

The event at the SMPL is wheelchair accessible. For special disabled service contact the Library Administration at least one week in advance at 310-458-8606. The library is served by Big Blue Bus routes 1, 7, R7, 8 and R10. Big Blue Bus lines 2, 3, 3M, 5 and 9 also stop within walking distance.
