WEST HOLLYWOOD—On Tuesday, June 9, authorities were called to the 11th floor of the Mandarian Hotel in West Hollywood after receiving reports of a dispute involving pepper spray. The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on the scene after 5 a.m.

The hotel located on the 8400 block of Sunset Boulevard reported a strange odor ventilating the hallway. A preliminary investigation determined that a man and a woman got into a dispute, and pepper spray was discharged. No injuries were reported.

The police are still unsure of the cause of the dispute. Detectives are investigating to determine if the pepper spray was a result of another crime being committed.
