WESTWOOD — The public has been given the chance to review a new plan aimed to improve healthy living in
Los Angeles
County on April 2.
The Plan for a Healthy L.A. is a guideline that will go along with the city’s General Plan to seek to improve the health conditions of people within and around
Los Angeles. The Health Atlas Report, unveiled in July 2013, is a document created for the Plan, that analyzes health issues and outcomes in
Los Angeles by highlighting the key notion that neighborhoods are what primarily determine the health and well-being of citizens. The draft plan and the atlas are now available for public view at the Plan’s official website.
With both texts now in the wild, the Department of City Planning is now giving the public a chance to see how the plan will affect their lives through several different community planning forums that will take place in March and April, according to the department’s site. At these forums, people can stop by and get information and share their feedback about this plan and other initiatives including the Mobility Plan 2035 and recode LA.
There are seven different forums being planned, including one at the
Westwood
United
Methodist
Church on April 2 between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The church is located at
10497 Wilshire Boulevard. If the forums cannot be attended, residents are encouraged to write in their feedback by mailing it in to the Department of City Planning by May 13 at 5:00 p.m. to
