BEVERLY HILLS—On Wednesday, November 25, the Beverly Hills Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on the 100 block of N. Swall Drive at around 8:30 a.m., according to a press release from the BHPD. Authorities arrested two suspects, Ramiziddin Rasheed, 36 and Skya Munyker, 19, both who are transients.

Officers spotted the vehicle in an alley, where the suspects fled the scene once officers tried to make contact with them. A brief pursuit occurred where the suspect’s vehicle crashed with another car at the intersection of Burton Way and Doheny Drive resulting in injury to the female driver of the other car.

The suspect’s vehicle was damaged, with airbags visible, but they managed to restart the vehicle and flee. The suspects were driving at high speeds, and recklessly which prompted officers to call off the pursuit. A KTLA helicopter monitored the suspect’s actions and remained overhead reporting until Air Support arrived from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Both suspects forced themselves into a residence to escape police. Authorities safely rescued two children and their mother from the home. While searching the home, the suspects were apprehended by a police dog.

Rasheed is being charged with burglary, receiving stolen property, grand theft auto, evading police, obstructing police and felony hit and run. His bail is set at $175,000. Munyker is being charged with burglary, and obstructing police. Her bail is set at $50,000.

Authorities discovered the suspect’s vehicle was stolen from the city of La Habra. Both Rasheed and Munyker stole the keys from a gym locker and took the car from the parking lot. Officers were also able to recover a large amount of stolen property from numerous crimes.
