WESTWOOD—On Thursday, October 22, a man reported an assault that took place at UCLA’s Ackerman Student Union building at around 8:30 p.m.

According to a UCLA Police Department crime alert, the suspect is described as a white male, around 40-years-old, who is 5 feet and 10 inches tall and heavy set with a large stomach and gray stubble. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, khaki shorts and was holding a black backpack.

The victim, who is not affiliated with UCLA, reported that the suspect picked up a metal chair, and attempted to strike him with it. During the attack, the suspect made threats to the victim and used racial slurs against him.

The victim suffered minor lacerations and was treated on site by paramedics.

The UCLA Police Department has not yet released any information to the public regarding the victim’s name or ethnicity.

Authorities have not yet released a motive regarding the assault, according to reports.
