WOODLAND HILLSA 22-hour armed standoff between police and an elderly woman came to an end on May 22.

Police were originally called to a mobile park home at the Woodland Park Mobile Estates at 4201 Topanga Canyon Boulevard at around 5:30 a.m. An elderly woman around 70 years-old placed a call to the police, complaining of chest pains.

When officials arrived on the scene the woman pulled out a handgun and pointed it at officers. She then ran into the trailer park and hid for hours. Deputies attempted to get the woman to surrender. The standoff resulted in police evacuating some residents inside the 199 unit complex. Some were asked to stay locked inside of their homes.

Authorities have not released details on how they got the suspect to surrender. She was arrested and taken into custody at around 3:30 a.m. She was taken to a nearby hospital for a medical evaluation.
