WEST HOLLYWOOD – The public is invited to help shape the future of a property on North Laurel Avenue with an Open House event on May 17 and other meetings to follow in the coming weeks.

The property located on 1343 North Laurel Avenue was left to the City of West Hollywood following the passing of Elsie Weisman in 2000. The city would like to engage residents to discuss potential future endeavors for the home on the property using the Vision Concepts Committee formed by the City Council on March 17.

The Open House event will be held on May 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and everyone will be invited to explore the home first hand and the grounds on which it stands with guided tours every half hour during the event, according to a statement from the city.

After the Open House, the Vision Concepts Committee will hold two more public meetings that will allow residents to provide further input on what should be done with the property. The first will take place on May 29 starting at 6:30 p.m. The second will happen a month later on June 30 at the same hour. Both meetings will be held at the Community Center in Plummer Park. The city’s statement further noted that information from the meetings and various surveys from throughout the process will be presented to the City Council for their consideration in either late summer or early fall.
