Racing Believed To Be Cause Of Fiery Wreck

BEVERLY HILLS—The inferno that erupted around a flipped Mercedes Benz is believed to be the result of illegal racing through the streets of the 90210.

Police received a call at approximately 11:30 p.m.  on March 27, responding to reports of a wreck near the crossing of Clear View and Benedict Canyon Drives in Beverly Hills. Per witness reports, the teenage driver of the Mercedes Benz collided with a tree following a high-speed race with a BMW.

Losing control of the vehicle, the driver collided with the tree, sending the car sliding across the street and into the driveway of a nearby house. Just before the ensuing fire, residents heroically helped the teenage driver and passenger from the vehicle. They were promptly transported to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-lethal.

The driver of the BMW allegedly involved in the race remained on scene. Both of the drivers and the passenger of the Mercedes are 17-years-old.

Drug and alcohol abuse do not appear to have been factors in the fiery crash. There are no reports of any arrests made in connection to the wreck.
