8 dead and 7 live cockroaches were found in the vicinity of the cooking area, according to reports.

According to the Better Health Channel, cockroaches are found to contain a host of diseases proven to be harmful for humans, which includes salmonella, one of the most common causes of food poisoning. Other illnesses the bugs may carry include staphylococcus, streptococcus and the polio virus, according to foodsafety.gov.

Not only do the vermin prefer warm and humid conditions, but they are attracted to readily available food sources, including places with sitting water.

Canyon News reached out to Rainbow Bar, but no one would provide comment.

The restaurant is home to one of Los Angeles’ most popular dining establishments for rockers such as Ozzy Osbourne and Motley Crue. The Rainbow Bar and Grill opened up in 1972 and was the host of numerous heavy etal scenes in the 1980s.

No word has yet been confirmed if or when the restaurant will re-open.
