WEST HOLLYWOOD—A shooting and assault occurred on Tuesday, February 12 outside a West Hollywood recording studio, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

At around 3:13 p.m. the LASD received calls notifying them of shots being fired at Westlake Recording Studios on the 7200 Block of Santa Monica Boulevard and Greenacre Avenue. The targets of the attack were rapper Rich the Kid and two other men who were with him. When deputies arrived at the location they found three male Black assault victims in the alley of the establishment.

KTLA reported that witness Abraham Hanoun was driving on the road at the time of the incident when he saw a man looking anxiously around. Hanoun reported seeing a silver car pull up and start shooting at a car about nine times.

TMZ reported the suspects stole money and jewelry from the victims. As the suspects drove away, one the assailants started firing gunshots at the victims. None of the victims sustained gunshot wounds, but suffered minor injuries which they were treated for at the scene of the crime the LASD reported.

About three hours prior to the attack, Rich the Kid posted a photo on Instagram with a large amount of cash in his hand with the caption, “Always in bank mo deposit.”

Witness Hanoun described the shooter as a man in his 20s, around six feet and two inches tall. At the time of the incident he was wearing red pants and a black t-shirt.

No one has been arrested at this time. The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Detectives are currently investigating the incident.
