HOLLYWOOD HILLS—Roadside Eats celebrated their grand opening on Friday, October 18, at the Archlight complex on Sunset and Vine.

Roadside Eats is a southern sandwich shop that offers “a modern take on the rich tradition of Roadside counters serving classic Southern favorites [including] sandwiches, fresh sides and salads in a simple yet warm and inviting environment,” according to their Facebook page.

The sandwich shop is a collaboration between owners Ken Kaufman and Brian McKeaney with Chef-partner Dave Northrup.

“This is a spot I’ve been dreaming about for a long time,” Northrup said in a statement. “It’s the food that I grew up loving, but with cleaner and brighter flavors. The taste and texture combinations are 100 percent nostalgic, but the service and presentation are all right now,” he added.

During the grand opening, Roadside Eats donated 10 percent of all profits for the day to the Hollywood Wilshire YMCA to “support youth, teen and transitional housing programs,” according to the flyer for the Dining For A Cause event. Additionally, the shop served free soft serve ice cream cones to kids between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Roadside Eats is located at 6374 Sunset Boulevard. They are open Monday through Wednesday and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
