MALIBU—Deputies were dispatched to the scene of a vehicle rollover accident on Kanan Dume Road at 9:50 a.m. on January 10.

The collision occurred near the second tunnel of the canyon pass, according to several reports. Lanes were temporarily closed while safety crews assessed the accident and maintained traffic in the area.

The northbound lane at the second tunnel at Kanan Dume was temporarily closed.

There were no initial reports of critical injuries.

On December 2, a deadly traffic collision on Kanan Dume Road killed the driver of a pickup truck who collided with a tractor/trailor.

An earlier report by Canyon News noted that Kanan Dume Road has been proven to be an unsafe highway. In Novemebr 2014 a vehicle plunged, which caused critical injuries to three passengers. In a similar incident on October 14, the passengers of a car traveling northbound on the winding highway were airlifted after their car lost control and drove into the canyon.
