SANTA MONICA—The search for a missing man in Santa Clarita was called off on Saturday morning at 11:30. Donald Carter from Santa Monica, who is fond of hiking, was declared missing on Friday, June 28, after his car was found near Lake Hughes Road in Warm Springs.

The search happened 15 miles east of the Interstate 5 freeway. There were 18 volunteers and five dogs included in the search as well as an aerial team. It had begun from 11:30 p.m. on Friday, continuing all throughout Saturday, July 3.

Deputy Thompson of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station told Canyon News that he had spoken to Carter’s wife, but there have been no phone calls from him. The deputy also added that the hiker was lost in Malibu about three years ago. However, he was reported to have no mental problems.

Carter is a gray-haired white male with a slight build and brown eyes. He stands 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.
