SANTA MONICA—Santa Monica’s ice-skating rink, located at the corner of 5th Street and Arizona Avenue, has returned for the holiday season. The 8,000 square-foot ice rink will entertain nearly 60,000 ice-skaters.

A special birthday event is slated to take place on November 10 in honor of ICE’s 10th anniversary in Santa Monica. The event will host up to 300 people – there will be a giant birthday cake, free food stations, souvenirs and other activities. The event is free for the public to attend, but those who come to celebrate are encouraged to bring a gift, which will be donated to PAL for the Holiday Best Gift Ever Drive.

Cost of admission plus skate rentals is $15. ICE at Santa Monica advertises a rain or shine policy, but if weather conditions threaten the safety of staff or patrons, the rink will be closed down until conditions improve.

Santa Monica residents and visitors can skate until January 17, 2017 during the following rink hours:

  • Monday through Thursday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m
  • Friday from 2 p.m.  to 12 a.m.
  • Saturday from 10 a.m.  to 12 a.m.
  • Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The rink will host music-themed Thursday nights known as “ICE Grooves.” Special holiday hours can be found on the web.
