Malibu SAR and the LAFD discovered the woman in a gorge within the park, a popular place where more adventurous Malibu hikers and rock climbers venture to test their skill.

To extricate the woman from the gorge, the SAR deployed a team traveling by boat. Once she was pulled from the gorge, firefighters prepared her for transport to a local hospital for treatment on her broken leg.

The rescue attempt lasted nearly two hours. The identity of the injured hiker remains unknown.
