HOLLYWOOD—Last year I was a big fan of the upcoming FOX series “Scream Queens.” While I thought the Pilot episode was strong, the season soon became lackluster for me and the big reveal at the end was slightly disappointing for me. Well, it looks like the writers have made some massive changes to help season 2 become a guilty pleasure. Hey, if MTV’s “Scream” can do it (and I loved the recent season), “Scream Queens” has a shot people.

We are reunited with some familiar faces as the Chanel clan (Emma Roberts, Abigail Breslin and Billie Lourd) have been released from that insane asylum and are now working at Dean Cathy Munsch’s (Jamie Lee Curtis) hospital. Along the way the ladies are reunited with former sorority sister Zayday (Keke Palmer), who happens to be a med student.

There are some new faces to this season as we meet Dr. Cassidy Cascade (Taylor Lautner) and “Full House” alum John Stamos as Dr. Brock Holt. As for the killer, it’s not the Red Devil this time around people. Instead it’s someone cloaked in a green lizard like, devil mask costume, who lurks the hospital. And it looks like all the patients and staff are all culpable in the crimes or could become potential casualties. The premiere episode “Scream Again,” was full of funny banter, witty one-liners, intense thrills and more mystery than season one if you ask me.

Similar to season one, we open season two at a hospital in 1986, on Halloween night, where Dr. Mike (Jerry O’Connell) has to tend to the husband of a woman who is adamant he needs treatment right away. She is pregnant, emotional, and worried about her husband’s wellbeing. Looks like celebrating parties will be the death of people. Instead of treating the patient, Dr. Mike and his nurse pal dumps the patient’s body in the swamp. Hmm, looks like this will be key to solving the mystery of who the killer is.

Dr. Brock and Dr. Cassidy are indeed charming guys who we first meet treating Catherine (Cecily Strong) who is suffering from an extreme hair syndrome. We later see the return of Hester (Lea Michele) who confessed to her crimes and finds herself carted off to prison. Looks like Cathy is looking to make amends for all the chaos she caused in the past. She offered Zayday an opportunity she couldn’t refuse; paying for her to go to medical school. Zayday immediately bonds with Brock and Cassidy who divulge a bit about their past and surgical skills. Looks like a relationship is brewing between Cassidy and Zayday, but it appears she has picked up on the fact that his body temperature is always cold.

We meet a fun character by the name of Chamberlain Jackson (James Earl), a candy stripper who looks to turn frowns into smiles. Before Chanel and her minions head to Cathy’s hospital, the ladies are seen complaining about their recent fall from grace before being offered an opportunity too good to be true. Per usual, we have seen much growth from Chanel #3 who is still Chanel’s most loyal pal, while it’s evident Chanel #5 is still on the outs with the two ladies for reasons unknown.

Let the terror begin people, because while doing laundry, Zayday was not pleased to see Chanel, Chanel #3 and Chanel #5. Wait, Zayday was happy to see the other girls? What am I missing here people? The ladies were mesmerized by Dr. Brock who was showering in a scene that was quite hilarious to say the least. Feels like its right out of a horror flick, but instead of the woman being ogled it’s the guy. Hmm, what’s up with that tattoo on his back? That seems significant people!

Loving this wicked character, Ingrid Marie Hoffel portrayed by Kristie Alley, who has totally made it clear to Chanel and her pals that she is watching them like a hawk. The Chanels bad behavior placed them on academic probation, which only prompted Chanel to cozy up to Dr. Brock who she is smitten by. As the two talked, they realized a way to solve Catherine’s medical crisis by decreasing her levels of testosterone. It looks like a bit of competitive rivalry will exist between Zayday and Chanel that could be a catalyst for the bloodbath this season.

Looks like Chanel is continuing to trade spars about her wisdom, and it appears Dean Munsch and Ingrid both have plans for the Chanel ladies. Just got a clue, what if Ingrid is seeking vengeance on the ladies because they’re responsible for her daughter or son being murdered because of the Red Devil killer?

Oh, this sounds quite sinister to say the least. Why the hell would Chanel #5 indulge in hydrotherapy with the mystery patient, locking themselves inside with no option to escape? Now the moment, we’ve been waiting for. Our newest villain entered the room dressed in what looks like a green lizard costume, with a sharp knife in hand. Both ladies panicked as it became clear someone was about to lose their head literally and it was Catherine.

But it looks like Chanel #5 was not about to get off easy as the killer raised that knife at her head before the screen cut to black. So is Chanel #5 a goner already in episode 1 people? I will acknowledge the first episode was quite slow with the introduction of characters, but those final moments of the episode totally made up for the mystery that is certain to shroud this hospital this season. Any guesses as to who could be hiding behind that costume, what’s worse, what is the motive behind the murders? “Scream Queens” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on FOX.
