GRIFFITH PARK—A woman was attacked on May 21, just off Fern Dell Drive, while hiking in the park. This incident marks the second to occur in the month of May in the area.

The LAPD released an alert around the area warning hikers in the park to be on the lookout for the suspect.

Canyon News reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department about the incident, but they were not able to provide any additional details regarding the case as it’s still under investigation.

On May 14, a similar incident in Griffith Park occurred, but authorities do not believe the attacks are connected. The suspect approached the victim and started punching her. Then tried to sexually assault her, but the woman was able to fight off her attacker.

The suspect in that attack is being described as a Hispanic male, standing 5 feet and 7 inches tall. He weighs approximately 150 pounds and is believed to be between the age of 30-35. The police have released a sketch from the May 14 incident.
