BEL AIR—Tennis star Serena Williams has sold her Bel Air estate for $8.1 million. The property was sold for less than the original asking price of $12 million when it was initially placed on the market in October 2017.

The price of the home continued to drop when it was listed back on the market in January 2019 for $9.995 million. Williams purchased the home in 2006 for $6.62 million under a trust with her sister Lyndrea Price, who was listed as the trustee.

Williams’ Bel Air estate is one of the largest lots in Stone Canyon where many celebrities have owned or still own property. The home was built in the 1930s and sits on three acres of land that is donned with mature trees, hiking trails, and a secluded swimming pool with a cabana. The home has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, an executive study and wet bar both finished in dark wood. The interior of the estate is composed of clerestories and high ceilings, marble and hardwood floors. The estate also contains its own full-service hair salon.

Gregory Piechota and Amit Lalji of Keller Williams Realty in Beverly Hills were the listing agents for Williams’ Stone Canyon home. Fred Bernstein of Westside Estate Agency represented the buyer. In an interview with Mansion Global, Bernstein said that his client has been interested in the property for some time.

Williams is one of the highest paid female athletes in the world with a net worth more than $150 million. She has won the second most single titles in women’s Grand Slam tournaments of all time. She is married to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, and they share a daughter together, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
