SHERMAN OAKS—On Sunday, January 16, firefighters reported to a structure fire and were able to extinguish it in 10 minutes. There were no injuries reported.

The incident occurred in a two-story home on 3930 N. Deervale Drive. According to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson, Cecil Manresa, fire fighters received the report at 6:27 p.m. They arrived at the scene at 6:36 p.m. and were able to put out the fire in a matter of 10 minutes, at 6:47 p.m.

When interviewed by Canyon News, Manresa stated there were no injuries reported. A total of 24 firefighters, two ambulances and other companies reported to the scene.

No cause has been found, and continues to be investigated by the Arson Department.

So far during this year, there was been 272 structure fires reported citywide, according to Manresa. He stressed, however, that this is just the amount reported to be structure related fires. It is unknown how many of those actually turned out to be real fires.
