HOLLYWOOD—Actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested last week after unruly behavior at a Broadway play at the Studio 54 theatre in New York during a performance of “Cabaret” starring Alan Cumming.

The actor is reportedly seeking treatment for alcohol addiction according to TMZ. TMZ reported that reports made by media outlets that the actor has checked into rehab are false.

According to reports, the actor was acting disorderly, yelling, and grabbing at patrons.  The police report indicated that LaBeouf spat at one of the arresting officers. He appeared in court on Friday, where he posted bail and was released.

TMZ reported the actor was banned from a Los Angeles restaurant earlier after he was caught peeing in the parking lot of the establishment. They also displayed a video on their site of the actor attempting to get into a scuffle with another guy outside of a New York strip club in June.

He raised eyebrows earlier in the year at the Berlin Film Festival where he wore a brown paper bag over his head claiming “I am not famous anymore.” In 2011, he was punched in the face after getting into an argument with a patron at the Mad Bull’s Tavern bar in Sherman Oaks. No charges were filed in that incident. In July 2008, the actor was involved in a car crash that resulted in injuries to his left hand.

The actor is known for his work as Sam Witwicky in the first three “Transformers” films. He got his start in acting with the Disney series “Even Stevens.” He will next appear in the Brad Pitt war film “Fury” slated to be released in November 2014.
