BEVERLY HILLS—The discovery of a skimming device illicitly placed above a Beverly Hills ATM prompted the Beverly Hills Police Department to issue a warning on April 9 concerning the activity of an unknown identity thief.

The device, paired with a miniature camera, was attached above an ATM machine at a Bank of America branch located at 9454 Wilshire Boulevard. Per BHPD detectives, the skimming device has been planted at the bank on several different occasions dating back to March 31.

Skimming devices such as this one can be used to steal your bank account information.

For these reasons, authorities have warned anyone that has frequented the bank between March 31 and April 9 that they may have had their debit card and pin numbers stolen. If you have used the bank’s ATM on those dates, you are advised to check your account statements for any fraudulent activity.
