WOODLAND HILLS—On Monday, December 22, a small fire emerged on the second floor of the Westfield Promenade. There were no reports of any serious injuries to mall tenants or firefighters.

The fire occurred at the kitchen of California Roll & Sushi at 6100 Topanga Canyon Blvd. in Woodland Hills at around 8:13 a.m.

Brian Humphrey, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman, stated that the fire started in the kitchen of the business, and took 20 firefighters to extinguish the flames. The fire was kept at bay in the kitchen by a sprinkler. It took firefighters 30 minutes to take down the fire.  There was no formal evacuation.
