SANTA MONICA—The Santa Monica Police Department is investigating a homicide that transpired on Thursday, January 24.  Sergeant Roberta Villegas indicated in a press release to Canyon News that at 6:23 a.m., the Department responded to the 1200 block of Sunset Avenue of a 911 call with a male requesting assistance.

After arriving on the scene, officers found three adults, two males and a female, suffering from multiple stab wounds. The Santa Monica Fire Department arrived on the scene and treated the victims. The female victim, whose identity has not been disclosed to the public, died of stab wounds at the scene. The male victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition with stab wounds to the chest and a second male was transported with stab wounds to the abdomen.

SMPD Detectives arrived to the scene and a preliminary investigation revealed that the three individuals are related: mother, father, and adult son in his 40s. The investigation is ongoing and authorities are not releasing the names of the victims and no further suspects are being sought at this time.
