SHERMAN OAKS—A man was arrested on Tuesday, July 24, after he stabbed both his adoptive fathers inside their Sherman Oaks home. The Los Angeles Police Department arrived on the scene at around 1 a.m. after receiving a call from the suspect who has been identified as Matthew Boulet, 21, who indicated to police that he stabbed his parents.

When police arrived at the home on the 4600 block of Burrent Avenue they found the suspect covered in blood. He was later arrested. The two victims have been identified as Tom Boulet and Ken Coll. They found with stab wounds to the neck and were rushed to the hospital where they are undergoing surgery for their injuries. They were stabbed multiple times with a pocket knife.

According to reports, the stabbing transpired after an argument between the suspect, who was home from college for the summer and his parents.

Lt. Mike Kozak of the LAPD stated, “Its very tragic obviously. Whether its [an] adoptive issue or naturally…there is a lot to be concerned about.” Kozak indicated the suspect was “nonchalant” about stabbing his parents and that he suffered a wound and was “calm about it.”

Police recovered the pocket knife used in the attack which is reported to be 3 to 4 inches long. Both victims are listed in critical condition.
