HOLLYWOOD—Another weekend at the box-office, another new champion. I will acknowledge this was a dog fight at the box-office this weekend, but “Spy” managed to laugh away the competition. The comedy, action-caper starring Melissa McCarthy and Jason Statham earned $30 million. Not a bad number for an R-rated comedy.

Falling to the #2 spot was the disaster flick “San Andreas” which added another $26.4 million to its tally. In just two weeks the film has already gross over $100 million at the box-office. Landing in the #3 spot was the horror flick “Insidious: Chapter 3” with an impressive $23 million debut. The guys of “Entourage” weren’t as popular with moviegoers only earning $10.4 million during its opening weekend. Since its release on Wednesday the movie earned $17.8 million.

Rounding out the top five was the sleeper of the summer “Mad Max: Fury Road” which added another $7.9 million. After nearly a month in theaters, the flick has earned over $130 million at the domestic box-office. This week sees the release of possibly the biggest film of the summer as Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard brings the dinosaurs back in “Jurassic World.”
