WEST HOLLYWOOD—The annual Sunset Strip Music Festival (SSMF) will take place on Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21. Jane’s Addiction, the legendary alternative band and the Australian electronic music Empire of the Sun are part of the lineup.

The Jane’s Addiction band has been named a SSMF honoree, will be awarded the “Elmer Valentine Award.” The award celebrates those who have made an impact on the The Strip. The honoree will be hosted at the House of Blues on Sunset Strip on Friday, September 19.

The two-day festival will have three outdoor stages, food, and beverages. According to a news release from the City of West Hollywood, Sunset Boulevard will be closed to vehicle traffic between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Boulevard.

Jane’s Addiction will headline Saturday by playing “Nothing’s Shocking” in its entirety. The lineup for the first day consists of Failure, Cold War Kids, ††† (Crosses), Minus the Bar, Kaiser Chiefs, The Birds of Satan, Nightmare and the Cat, Beware of Darkness and Say Say.

On Sunday, the Empire of the Sun will headline. The lineup for Sunday will consists of Mayer Hawthorne, Iration, Big Data, Tove Lo, Big Freedia, We Came as Romans, Nostalghia, and Fenech-Soler will round out the festival. More groups will be announced at a later date.

Throughout the day, there will be several venues such as Whisky A Go-Go, The Roxy, and Viper Room on Sunset Strip that will host live performances for ticketed attendees.
