STUDIO CITY—A Studio City man was found dead in a San Bernardino backyard on Tuesday, September 20. The suspect in the crime was found bloody and naked, and was taken into custody by authorities at the scene of the crime.

San Bernardino police received reports of a suspected murder on the 1600 block of West 26th Street at approximately 10:27 p.m. on Tuesday.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found Thurston Alexander Watkins, 39, of Studio City suffering from symptoms of “significant trauma,” authorities noted. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, Marvin Ramirez, 29 of Covina, was found “in close proximity” to Watkins, authorities from the San Bernardino Police Department said. He was wearing a white hospital gown and had blood smeared across his face.

Ramirez was disoriented and initially resisted officers’ orders, but was detained and arrested. Police believe both men were visiting at the residence. No specific details have been released about the murder in relation to a motive.

“All I know is the suspect was disoriented,” said police spokeswoman Eileen Hards. “We don’t know weapon or motive at this time, as it is still early in the investigation.”
