STUDIO CITY—Officials from the Los Angeles Police Department North Hollywood Division are searching for a man suspected of stabbing another man on Saturday, September 26, at a Studio City restaurant.

According to witnesses, the stabbing took place on the balcony of the high-end Russian eatery, Romanov Restaurant and Lounge, located at 12229 Ventura Blvd.

The suspect and the victim were part of two groups who were on the balcony at around 11:20 p.m. The two men got into a direct altercation that resulted in the victim being stabbed in the stomach.

The LAPD notes that the suspect was seen fleeing the scene in a black Mercedes. Following his escape, the suspect is believed to have fired a number of gunshots near the restaurant.

The stabbing victim, not yet identified, sustained non-life threatening injuries and is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

The police has commented that members of both groups, including the victim, have been less than cooperative in the investigation. Authorities have not released a physical description of the suspect to the public.

This is the latest in a number of stabbing investigations in the Studio City/North Hollywood area. Emmy-winning producer Andre Salaman Bautista was arrested on suspicion of stabbing his roommate, 23-year-old Clayton Haymes, in their home on September 8.

On the same day, another stabbing occurred at a residence on 3100 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard. A man was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Two men were detained for questioning.
