MALIBU—Sunlife Organics opened a new storefront at the Malibu Country Mart 3835 Cross Creek Road on June 13.

Hayley Gorcey, co-owner of Sunlife Organics, says that the inception started years ago when Khalil Rafati, owner of Sunlife Organics, decided to start living a healthier lifestyle.

In 2003, Khalil eliminated alcohol and drugs, but still could not achieve the healthy lifestyle with the daily fast food diet and smoking. A friend of his introduced him to smoothies and organic supplements.

Afterwards, Khalil did some traveling and research to find good organic products. In the end, he found that it really is about “eating your fruits and veggies.”

In 2011, Khalil and his girlfriend Hayley Gorcey opened the first Sunlife Organics juicebar with the motto “Love Heal and Inspire” at Point Dume Village in west Malibu.

Khalil has just achieved his 12 year sobriety says Hayley, his girlfriend of 8 ½ years. They have plans to open more juice bars in the near future.

The menu includes juices, smoothies, protein shakes, frozen yogurt, young thai coconut, and their popular bowls.

There have been celebrity sightings at the Sunlife Organics.
