SANTA MONICA—A suspect at an Apple store in Santa Monica was attempting to commit fraudulent activity when a loss prevention agent from the store noticed and flagged down a bike patrol officer.

The incident occurred on June 4. The agent immediately notified the officer that a customer inside the store, located at Third Street Promenade was attempting to buy a new iPhone with a fraudulent credit card.

The suspect has been identified as Durrell Lambert, 31, of Santa Monica. He was arrested and taken into custody without bail.

Lambert was aware that the card was stolen. He admitted that the card was given to him by a man he met earlier that day. He noted to police that the man ordered him to use the card and buy the phone.

The suspect took advantage of the fraudulent credit card earlier that day at a store in Manhattan Beach.
