MALIBU—On February 4, an erratic driver who led police on an hour-long chase beginning in Downtown Malibu and ending in Mid-City Los Angeles has been identified, according to police.

Karen Rayner, of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Community Southwest Division, confirmed to Canyon News that the suspect has been identified as a 44-year-old white male named Benjamin Koraman, who has been booked for felony evading and is being held on $75,000 bail.

“Apparently there was a collision at the end of the pursuit, but I don’t know the extent of the injuries to victim or suspect,” Rayner stated to Canyon News.

The incident was reported at around 9:20 a.m. on the Pacific Coast Highway near Serra Road, when the suspect was spotted driving recklessly by other motorists.

Koraman eventually led police to the intersection of Pico and Redondo Blvd.’s, where the suspect reportedly crashed.  Though it is suspected that Koraman was under the influence of alcohol during the chase it has not yet been confirmed by police.
