SANTA MONICA—Police have arrested two suspects in the 2008 murder of 21-year-old aspiring actress and model Juliana Redding.  On Thursday, June 17, 2010, at approximately 1:40 p.m. police apprehended 44-year-old Kelly Soo Park and 34-year-old Ronnie Wayne Case in Camarillo.  While Park was apprehended in Camarillo, state records indicate she’s a resident of Thousand Oaks, Calif.

The suspects were taken into custody without incident.  Park appeared in court on Monday, June 21, in connection to Redding’s murder.  Park allegedly entered the victim’s apartment on March 15, 2008, on the 1500 block ofCentinela Avenue and physically assaulted her, resulting in her death.  Her bail has been set at $1 million and she faces a maximum prison term of 25 years to life if she is convicted.

Canyon News spoke to Shiara Davila of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office about the case.  When asked by Canyon News the exact cause of death of Juliana Redding she indicated that no facts of evidence regarding the case could be discussed.  “The other suspect in the case hasn’t been charged at the moment because the case is under further investigation by the Santa Monica Police Department,” added Davila.

Juliana was born in Tucson, Ariz. and moved to California to pursue a career in modeling and acting.  She had been taking several college courses in the area, while working at a bar at the time of her death.  She had a small role in the 2005 film “Kathy T,” where she portrayed the character Sharon.

Canyon News also spoke to Sgt. Jay Trisler of the SMPD about the case.  “The cause of death for the victim is a part of our ongoing investigation.  I can’t confirm that the victim was killed by blunt force trauma,” said Sgt. Trisler.  When asked by Canyon News if either suspect had a prior criminal record he stated “Ms. Park did not, but Mr. Case did.”

“A motive has not yet been established in the death of Juliana Redding. That’s a part of our ongoing investigation and it hasn’t been disclosed,” said Sgt. Trisler.  He informed Canyon News that there are no new developments in the case and that Park is expected back in court on June 28.  He indicated that Case has been released.  “We potentially believe other suspects are involved,” said Sgt. Trisler.

“Detectives with the Santa Monica Police Department put in thousands of hours conducting this investigation and worked in cooperation with law enforcement agencies from the Torrance Police Department, Oxnard Police Department, FBI, LA Impact and Ventura County Combined Agencies Team (VCAT),” stated a press release from the SMPD website.
