WEST HOLLYWOOD—On Saturday night actress and environmental maven Tanna Frederick hosted an all-star event for Actors For Oceans. The beautiful star of “Queen of the Lot,” which debuted on Thursday night at the Directors Guild of America on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, was proud to give an award to our friend Sam Trammell, who stars as Sam Merlotte, the sexy shape shifter on HBO’s “True Blood.” Fans were pleased to learn that the resident shape shifter is even a talented musician.

The beautiful award-winning actress, who just last week won Best Lead Actress at The Wild Rose Film Festival for her role as Maggie Chase in Henry Jaglom’s “Queen” tells Canyon News, “Sam has worked so hard for Project Save Our Surf and Actors For Oceans that it was natural to offer this award to him. Besides, he’s not only a great actor, but a talented musician as well.”

Trammell performed at the event on Saturday night and regaled the audience with his amazing musical skills. The talented actor performed for hours and even spent time before and after the event on the red carpet greeting “True Blood” fans, who always graciously come out to support their favorite stars. Sam is always extremely polite to his fans and lets them know how much he appreciates their support. After Sam’s incredible performance, Tanna Frederick gave the star an award and told the crowd that Sam had agreed to be on the Board of Project Save Our Surf. Next year’s event is already being planned.

Tia Carrere performed two great songs in honor of the Mauli Ola Foundation. One other “True Blood” cast member, aside from Sam was at the event. The evil Maryann’s portrayer Michelle Forbes arrived looking as chic and beautiful as ever. She was grateful for being recognized as the evil Maryann. “Yes, I always enjoy it when fans come up to me and tell me how much they enjoyed my performance. ”˜True Blood’ fans or Truebies as they are called, are the best,” the actress tells Canyon News.

As for Tanna Frederick, she wowed the crowd with her beautiful dress, which was made from recycled paper. No Vera Wang or Versace for Miss Frederick. As she points out, everyone needs to do their part to help save the environment. “I was pleased to find this dress. It’s gorgeous, I think, and it is made out of recycled paper, so no trees had to be cut down, and it isn’t made in a sweat shop in Asia or South America. I’m so pleased this night was a great success and thank everyone, especially Sam for making it an unforgettable night for all,” said Frederick.
