SANTA MONICA—On May 28, CEOs and other VIPs from nationally prominent tech companies will gather in Santa Monica for TechFire’s second annual Ignite Summit.

The summit will feature big names in the worlds of technology, venture capital, and corporate development. Speakers include Sam Shank, co-founder and CEO of HotelTonight, which was named the Best On-Demand Service at the tech industry’s annual Crunchies Awards; Dan Morehead, founder and CEO of Pantera Capital, who runs a bitcoin venture fund; and Brandee Barker, co-founder and partner of The Pramana Collective, who according to her blurb on TechFire’s website, helped “grow Facebook into a global phenomenon as their first Head of Global Communications and Public Policy.”

The speaker panel is not the only attraction for guests, as attendees at the event will include representatives from companies like the Pritzker Group, DFJ Frontier, Hulu, Sony, and Disney, among many others. Last year’s summit, which drew over 1,700 registrants from as far away as Istanbul, was attended by tech reporter Paresh Dave from The Los Angeles Times, TechStars’ Disney Accelerator coordinator Yohei Nakajima, and Mayor Eric Garcetti’s liaison to the tech community Michelle Garakian.

The event will be held at The Historic Woman’s Club on 1210 Fourth Street, just around the corner from the Third Street Promenade. Doors will open at 8 a.m. for registration and networking. The event runs from 9 a.m. to noon.
