STUDIO CITY—The Studio City home that was used for the exterior shots of the popular 1970s sitcom, “The Brady Bunch” was burglarized last week by two suspects, who fled upon detecting the homeowner’s presence.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Station responded to the scene on the 11000 block of Dilling Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17.

“The suspects tried to pry open some windows and when that was unsuccessful, they smashed a rear sliding glass door and entered the residence,” an LAPD spokesperson told Canyon News.

The burglars proceeded to ransack the property and rifle through belongings, eventually waking the homeowner—who was described as a widow in her 70s. She turned on the lights and the suspects fled the scene, according to police.

“They were going through property and once they realized someone was in the house, they fled,” Sgt. Thomas Gahry of the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Station, said in statement.

The homeowner called 911 and LAPD North Hollywood officers responded to the scene. The victim was unharmed and no property was stolen. Authorities currently do not have a description of the suspects or their vehicle.

The five-bedroom home remains a tourist hot-spot, despite the owner’s efforts to mask the exterior and detract attention.
