In court documents, Jolie listed their official date of separation as September 15, 2016, and cited “irreconcilable differences,” as the reason for the split. According to the New York Post, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt after learning he was cheating on her with his sexy co-star, a source told The Post. Pitt, 52, had been rumored to have been cozying up to his “Allied,” co-star Marion Cotillard, 40, for months during the pair’s filming of the World War II drama in London. The private investigator discovered that Pitt was cheating on his wife of two years with Cotillard- while also partying like a single guy, the source said. However, a source close to Cotillard denied the Pitt affair rumors and insisted she is still with her long-term partner, French actor and director Guillaume Canet. The source could not confirm French reports that Cotillard is expecting with her second child with Canet.
Jolie, 41, was tired of sparring over their lifestyle, a source said. She has wanted to quit Hollywood in favor of devoting herself full-time to traveling the globe for her humanitarian work. The couple, who has been together since 2004, called it quits. They were secretly married in 2014 at their Chateau Miraval in France. They were wed in a small chapel in a private ceremony attended by family and friends. Prior to the nondenominational civil ceremony, the A-list celebrities obtained a marriage license from a local California judge, who also conducted the wedding ceremony in France.

Jolie is being repped by A-list divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, TMZ reports Jolie is asking for custody of the six children. The hysteria over Brangelina’s breakup is a reflection of our celebrity-obsessed culture. The split caused such a rumble on Tuesday, September 20, that an earthquake was reported in Los Angeles, where the couple has a home. The US Geological Survey reported a 3.0 magnitude earthquake just north of Gardena.
