BEVERLY HILLS—This week in Hollywood two sad milestones were remembered, Sylvester Stallone’s making an offer Gotti can’t even refuse, and the Bell family heads to the desert of Las Vegas to celebrate what hopefully will be an exciting night for either “B&B” or “Y&R.”

“The Bold and the Beautiful,” last year’s winner for Outstanding Drama Series, was nominated again in the same category. Included in the show’s nomination in this category are Bradley P. Bell, Executive Producer; Rhonda Friedman, Supervising Producer; Ron Weaver, Senior Producer; Adam Dusevoir, Coordinating Producer; Cynthia J. Popp, Producer. This marks the fifth nomination for “B&B” in this category. Surely “B&B” got noticed for their November 2009 amazing storyline, which was led by Betty White in an amazing tear-jerking, all-female episode where Stephanie and Pam (played by Susan Flannery and Alley Mills) make a heart-wrenching decision and say a final goodbye to their ill-tempered mother, “Ann.” The other nominees in this category are, “All My Children,” “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless.” If Holmby Hills resident Brad Bell loses this year, it should go to his sister-in-law Maria Arena Bell, who is a resident of Bel Air. Either way, the night’s top awards are obviously an exciting match.

Lauralee Bell recently told Canyon News, “I’ll be in Las Vegas rooting for Doug [Davidson],” who is up for Best Actor this year. Davidson also has famed journalist Michael Logan with TV Guide Magazine in his corner. Logan tells Canyon News, “For the past six years, the best actor award has gone either to ”˜General Hospital’ Anthony Geary (Luke) or ”˜The Young and the Restless’ Christian LeBlanc (Michael), neither of whom got a nod this year. Enough already! The voters wisely decided it’s time to spread the wealth. I’m especially excited to see ”˜Days of our Lives’ James Scott (EJ) and ”˜As the World Turns’ Jon Lindstrom (Craig) get their first nominations ever, and over the moon that ”˜Y&R’s’ Doug Davidson (Paul) got a nod, too. He’s been so marvelous ”“ and so marvelously real and understated, for 31 years and has only one other nomination to show for it. I’m rooting for him!”

The nominees for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series is a real horse race. Each and every nominee is deserving. Sarah Brown, “GH”; Crystal Chappell, “GL”; Bobbie Eakes, “AMC”; Michelle Stafford, “Y&R”; and Maura West,” ATWT.”

This year’s Lifetime Achievement award will be presented to the creator of “All My Children” Miss Agnes Nixon. The Daytime Emmy awards will be broadcast from Las Vegas for the first time when the awards show airs on the CBS network on Sunday, June 27, from the Las Vegas Hilton at 8 p.m. ET and PT.

Filmmaker and actor Sylvester Stallone is reportedly in talks with the son of the late mafia don John Gotti about a movie on the famed mobster’s life. Stallone is said to have financing lined up and now he’s just ironing out the details. This is the latest project Stallone has been involved with on the production side, since his once hot acting career has cooled over the past few years. Stallone is said to be interested in the lead role himself.

It seems unimaginable, that it has been one year since Michael Jackson was found lifeless in his rented Bel Air home. One year later, his estate is poised to pay off his almost a half billion dollar debts. It’s sad that Michael had to die before his career and image rebounded, but possibly it has turned into a positive for his three kids, at least financially. The children are also enrolled in private school for the first time in their lives. They will attend a very prestigious school in the L.A. County region in the fall. The pop icon’s legacy may be very important in Hollywood. The city and state are now looking at the relationships doctors share with their famous patients. After Heath Ledger’s death, Anna Nicole Smith’s and so many other celebrities, the issue of doctor shopping by the rich and famous is now in the forefront of policy makers’ discussions. Possibly some good legislation will come out of this horrible tragedy.

On the same day of Jackson’s death, my friend Farrah Fawcett also died. On Friday the doors were finally opened at the Farrah Fawcett Foundation. This is an organization Farrah always wanted, as a way to help cancer sufferers to beat cancer. Farrah’s greatest legacy, her son Redmond is doing a wonderful job winning his lifelong battle with addiction. Redmond was truly Farrah’s greatest joy in life, and it’s wonderful to see him honor his mom by staying sober and drug-free. To learn more about the foundation in Farrah’s name go to thefarrahfawcettfoundation.org/.

Hopefully these two legends’ lasting legacies will make a difference in the lives of as many people as they touched when they were both alive.

The 15th-century ruler Vlad IV Tzepesch, who was at the time of his life referred to as Vlad the Impeller, after he successfully used bloodthirsty practices to force the Ottoman empire out of eastern Europe, and the man who later became fictionalized by a British novelist, Bram Stoker centuries later as Dracula, may actually have a connection to Hollywood. Robert Pattinson, the handsome star of the “Twilight” films has told the media that he is a descendant of the princely grim reaper himself. Last week Hollywood brought out the red carpet for Pattinson and his “Eclipse” costars. This week, the film is released to the world. It’s excellent, and “Twilight” tweens will fall in love yet again with Edward and Jacob.

Congratulations to His Serene Highness Prince Albert, the son of former movie idol Grace Kelly, who is now engaged to South African former swimmer Charlene Wittstock. Great news for royal watchers around the world.

Thanks to friend Laurie Flesch who wrote an article about the “Big Love” campaign in my honor. Publicist and writer, Tommy Garrett’s ‘Big Love’ campaign The Detroit based journalist also follows the careers of Nathan Fillion and “General Hospital” star Steve Burton, who portrays Jason Morgan on the soap.

Music icon Mariah Carey has apparently been sued by her veterinarian, who claims the singing diva owes him $30,000 for treatment of her four prize pooches over the past few months. Mariah’s people declined to comment on the suit, stating she has not seen the papers yet and will not comment until then.

Beautiful country crooner Taylor Swift made number 12 on the Forbes list of the most wealthy stars of 2010 earlier this week. With Miley Cyrus taking the number 13 spot, with a reported $48M in earnings since last year.

In addition to the release of “Eclipse” this week, be sure to watch “B&B” when Oliver and Brooke panic after they find out Steffy is doing some sleuthing. Katie and Donna worry when Bill and Stephanie face-off; each refusing to negotiate to the other’s demands. On “Y&R” lookout Adam Newman. Daddy Victor is on your trail and death possibly looms for a beloved Genoa City beauty. Word is out, Eric Roberts is the latest film star to check out daytime. The actor is reportedly headed to the number one rated drama “The Young and the Restless.” Don’t miss HBO’s “True Blood on Sunday night” when Eric battles his most dangerous enemy thus far.

Next week I’ll have the full recap of the Daytime Emmys and some backstage gossip as well. Don’t forget the “Eclipse” countdown begins on Sunday night!

See you next week, stay cool!
