BEVERLY HILLS—This week in Hollywood we celebrated and mourned the end of a long-running television series, “As The World Turns.” The soap recently lost the show’s heart and soul when earlier in the summer Helen Wagner died at the age of 91. Helen portrayed Nancy Hughes on the soap from the very first air date on April 2, 1956,  54 years ago, and many of us had hoped that Helen as Nancy would say the final words on the show’s final episode. She’ll remain in our hearts forever. I was very honored to appear as a reporter on the soap in April. I worked opposite my friend Lesli Kay, who portrayed Molly on that soap, and who also stars on “The Bold and the Beautiful” as Felicia Forrester.

Cabaret star and actress Eileen Fulton tells Canyon News, “It has been an honor to be on this wonderful show. ”˜As The World Turns’ lasted so long, because of the love our fans have for the show’s characters, and the love we have for our own characters but also the fans. I had a wonderful run on the show, since I joined the cast in 1960. I miss our wonderful close-knit family, but most of us are going to continue acting, singing and doing other things in entertainment. So don’t forget us, we won’t forget any of you.”

Los Angeles resident Wayne Lawless, who has seen most of the 13,858 episodes tells Canyon News, “It may sound redundant, but I really do feel like I’m losing a good friend. I have watched it since it began, and I was 14.”

Two-time Emmy-winning actress Maura West has already landed another major soap gig. She will be joining CBS’s number one rated daytime drama “The Young and the Restless” as Diane Jenkins this month. Her first appearance in the new role will be at the end of October.

The “World” stops turning on Friday, September 17, on CBS.

Ask almost any woman between the ages of 25 to 80, who their favorite actors are, chances will be great that you will hear the name John Forsythe. Although we lost the great thespian in 2010, the legacy he gave us from Broadway to the silver screen and, of course, television will live on forever. That legacy appears to be continuing in other ways as well. Just as one Forsythe exits the stage, another seems to be entering from the wings. Alexandra Forsythe, the granddaughter of the late John Forsythe, is currently completing her stage début in “Forever Fosse” at the Hollywood Fight Club Theater in Los Angeles, now in its ninth run. Alexandra portrayed Helene, to critical acclaim, in this stage production. “Forever Fosse” is a tribute to the infamous Bob Fosse, directed by Heidi Favia, that features songs from “Chicago,” “Damn Yankees,” “Sweet Charity” and “Pajama Game.”

On the legal front this week. “Jersey Shore” reality star Snooki was chastised by a judge in New Jersey on Thursday, who told her that she was being a Lindsay Lohan wannabe and that is no way to live her life. Lindsay was not happy being brought up in a New Jersey courtroom. However, Lohan is now negotiating with Oprah to do an interview for “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in order to help reinvent herself in the eye of her public. Good luck!

Britney Spears was sued earlier in the week by a former bodyguard, who claims the pop star sexually harassed him during his employment with the diva. Spears slams the guy and vehemently denies all of the allegations. She says, in part, in a statement on her website, “This lawsuit is another unfortunate situation where someone is trying to take advantage of the Spears family and make a name for himself.”

Enjoy your week! XOXO
