STUDIO CITY—Craig Raymond Turner, 59, the eldest son of music legend Tina Turner, was found dead of apparent suicide at his Studio City home on Tuesday, July 3.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that Turner was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at 12:38 p.m. on Tuesday.

Tina Turner, 78, has yet to comment on the death of her son. She was on her way to Paris for Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week when her son’s body was found, according to reports. He was working as a real estate agent in California at the time of his death.

Tina has four children, two biological and two adopted. She gave birth to Craig when she was only 18. His father, Raymond Hill, was a saxophonist from Ike Turner’s band. When Tina and Raymond’s relationship ended and she married Ike and he adopted Craig. Tina also adopted Ike’s children, Ike Jr. and Michael. The couple had one child together, Ronnie.

Turner is famous for her hit singles “Proud Mary” and “What’s Love Got To Do With It” which earned her a Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1985.
