BEVERLY HILLS—The driver of a tour bus operated by Los Angeles USA Tours, Tylor Ferguson, was arrested on Sunday, June 23 for driving under the influence causing an accident in Beverly Hills that injured several passengers.

The crash occurred at Coldwater and Beverly Drive around 9:47 p.m., opportunely enough, it happened in front of the Beverly Hills Fire Department Station.

According to the Beverly Hills Police Department, the tour bus was struck by a passenger vehicle from behind, causing it to veer out of control. According to Lieutenant and Traffic Bureau Giovanni Trejo of the BHPD, at least 12 people were injured. As far as Trejo knows, there were no injured passengers in the other vehicle.

While some of the van’s passengers were transported to the hospital in ambulances, all injuries reported were minor.

Ferguson underwent a Standardized Field Sobriety Test which as officials arrived at the scene, suspecting from a DUI. The driver failed the three tests that make up the SFST, which are composed by horizontal gaze nystagmus (HGN), the walk-and-turn, and the one-leg stand tests. He was subsequently arrested for DUI.

After taking Ferguson into custody, the Beverly Hills Police Department informed Canyon News his blood was collected and he was booked for California Vehicle Code 23152 (F) – Misd. DUI of Drugs CVC.

BHPD Police Chief of Police Sandra Spagnoli reached out to her Twitter followers using the hashtag #DontDrinkAndDrive, encouraging others not to follow Ferguson’s inebriated steps. The collision is currently being investigated by the Traffic Bureau of the Beverly Hills Police Department.
