UCLA Athletics Receives $1 Million Donation

WESTWOOD—UCLA Athletics has announced that a $1 million donation has been made in the name of Marilyn Silva Lund and David Lund.

The donation will be used to fund the school’s development of the Wasserman Football Center, a multi-million dollar facility that will be located on the West side of Spaulding Field.

The Lund’s regularly attend Bruin sports events.

To commemorate the Lund family’s donation, the lounge and terrace of the state-of-the-art facility will be named after the couple.

David Lund, a UCLA alumnus, is a practitioner of international tax law, whose roots to the school date all the way back to 1949, when he began his time at UCLA serving as his freshmen class president.

Marilyn, who attended USC, is a proclaimed Bruin convert. The couple are regular UCLA Athletics supporters, regularly attending university sporting events together.

“Marilyn and David’s generous commitment is a wonderful example of Bruins helping Bruins,” said UCLA Athletic Director Dan Guerrero. “Marilyn and David’s is a story of tremendous leadership, passion and commitment. Their love for UCLA is only surpassed by their desire to make a difference in the lives of others. This type of selflessness is rare. On behalf of Bruins everywhere, I would like to thank them not only for this gift, but for what they have meant to UCLA for more than 60 years.”
