WESTWOOD—On Tuesday, July 16 around 10:40 a.m. a UCPD Crime Alert announcement revealed that a UCLA staffer was assaulted near the intersection of Westwood Boulevard and Le Conte Avenue, the UCLA Police Department reported.

The suspect pushed the female victim and made sexually explicit threatening statements in broad daylight just outside the UCLA campus. Several bystanders yelled at the suspect to stop, which allowed the victim to flee the location without sustaining any injuries.

Authorities describe the suspect as a 35-year-old Hispanic man, standing 5 feet and 8 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. He was possibly under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, the police reported. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and dirty khaki pants walking south on Westwood Boulevard towards Weyburn Avenue.

Canyon News reached out UCLA PD for comment on the incident. The UCLA PD noted they are currently not doing any on-air interviews and was not able to provide additional details regarding the case.
