LEXINGTON, KY­­──The UCLA Bruins upset the No. 1 ranked Kentucky Wildcats 97-92 on Saturday, December 3.

Isaac Hamilton led the No. 11 ranked Bruins with 19 points while T.J. Leaf had 17 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. Lonzo Ball added 14 points, six rebounds and seven assists in the Bruins ninth straight victory.

UCLA scored more points on the Wildcats than any other team in Kentucky head coach John Calipari’s coaching tenure.

“They played better than us and they played harder than us,” Calipari said after the game. “They had more fight than we had. They made some shots and we missed some shots.”

Malik Monk scored 24 points and made a game high four 3-pointers in the Wildcats first loss of the season. De’Aaron Fox had 20 points and nine assists; Edrice Adebayo added 18 points and 13 rebounds. Kentucky ended a 42-game home winning streak with the loss.

There were scouts from several NBA teams in attendance, including the Los Angeles Lakers who have a top three protected first round draft pick in 2017.

The Wildcats are now 7-1 on the season and will face the Valparaiso Crusaders in their next game on Wednesday, December 7.

UCLA remains undefeated at 9-0 and will play the Michigan Wolverines next on Saturday, December 10.
