TUSCON, AZ—The USC Trojans defeated the Arizona Wildcats 48-14, improving their win streak to three games on Saturday, October 15.

USC came into the game having won the last three match ups. Trojans’ quarterback Sam Darnold completed 20 of 32 passes and threw for 235 yards, including 54 yards rushing in route to five touchdowns. Darnold attributed his success in recent games to experience.

“There’s a lot of stuff that I’ve learned these last few weeks that’s really helped in this game. And obviously games that we’re looking ahead,” said Darnold.

USC Head Coach Clay Helton was complimentary of his red shirt freshman after the game.

“Not to blow up his head too much but he’s playing really good football right now, way beyond his years, his maturity level,” said Helton

Junior wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster caught nine catches for 132 yards while scoring three touchdowns for the Trojans. Running back Aca’Cedric Ware rushed for 103 yards on 12 carries and scored one touchdown.

Arizona freshman Khalil Tate made his first start for the Wildcats, completing 7 of 18 pass attempts and throwing one interception. Arizona has now lost four games in a row and have yet to win a game in the Pac-12.

USC will face Cal on Thursday, October 27 following a bye week.
