BEVERLY HILLS—The City of Beverly Hills is requesting the services of interested vendors to operate a snack bar near the children’s playground area and ballfields at La Cienega Park located at 8400 Gregory Way.

According to a press release from the City of Beverly Hills, the purpose of the snack bar would be to serve sports users of the park. Hours of operation will be negotiable, but peak sports use is 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. during the week and between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.

The City is expecting the vendor to have experience in the food service industry and be able to provide hot and cold food options to patrons.

The enclosed snack bar facility is expected to have a grill, refrigerator, fryer and other food amenities. A small region in the front of the snack bar will be available for outdoor seating.

Canyon News spoke to Dana Beesen, Publicist for the City of Beverly Hills via email about the snack bar. Beesen noted that the City has already received 12 interested inquiries. When asked about whether the City of Beverly Hills would consider utilizing more than one vendor to operate the snack bar Beesen replied, “Not at this time. The City will be looking for a sole vendor.”

Interested parties are asked to contact the La Cienega Park Community Center front desk or call (310) 285-6810 during regular business hours.

“The tentative timeline is the Request for Proposals will be send to interested vendors in January. Interviews with top submittals in February. Award of Contract in March, with hopes Snack Bar is operational by May, 2016,” said Beesen. At the moment there are not any food items being prohibited to the park.

The city of Beverly Hills will send a Request of Proposals to all interested parties in early 2016.
